              Danish Social and Educational Charitable Trust Kasegaon Conducted Prerna Vidyalaya Residential School for Mentally Handicapped Children Wategaon Tal. Walwa Dist.Sangli The school was started in 2008-09. The main reason for starting this school is the special son Arshad, the grandson of the founder Mr.C.G.Attar Sir.This thing was felt from his childhood. Its developmental stages were late. He needed special education. In order to be able to teach him, his mother took the training of a special teacher (diploma in special education for the mental retardation). So that your child can be taught.

             A school was started at Wategaon on 15/06/2008 with the intention of teaching not only Arshad but also other special children to use their knowledge. Wategaon is a village in hilly area and this village has got government literary educational and cultural heritage. Who is No two persons are ever alike. Individual differences are common to all. Especially the kids who are doing their best to explore the area. But they have many differences and respond differently to the methods used to teach them. Teaches at different paces. This is exactly what happens with mentally retarded children. Every child's intellectual capacity is different.

             Mental retardation is not a disease or a disease that can be cured by medication. This is a state/condition. is a type of disability. Caring for a mentally retarded child is an unbearable problem for parents. Because the parents take care of the mentally retarded child as long as they have it, but they are constantly worried about what will happen to the child after them. For that, it is necessary to make these children self-reliant, to prepare them to behave with self-respect in the society, and to be able to read and write as needed. That is why it is necessary to put such mentally retarded children in special schools and develop them.

             Most of the schools for the disabled are in urban areas and children from rural areas do not get this benefit. Prerna Vidyalaya is located in a rural area and has excellent food and education facilities for children's development.
